Trade Finance Explained

For the past few days in my new role, i’ve:

1. attended Data Protection Act (SG) briefing and browsed through on what’s Dodd-Frank Act about (great summary cheat sheet available here)
2. glanced through Trade Finance Intro..

The latter is a self initiative e-learning which i took earlier this morning, now i roughly understand why banks nowadays stressed the importance of non-interest income..

Some of the key summaries captured on the Payment Methods:

1. Open Account
   • Seller delivers the goods to the buyer.
   • Buyer pays the seller after an agreed period of time.
2. Cash in Advance
   • Buyer pays for the goods first.
   • Seller delivers the goods after receipt of payment.
3. Documentary Collection
   • Documents against payment
     
   • Documents against acceptance
     
4. Documentary Letter of Credit

設身處地, 觸景生情

有關下禮拜我被調到其他部門的消息, 同事們似乎都家喻戶曉.. 這件事功歸於我前任大老闆. 沒他的推薦與支持, 絕無僅有而能給我一籌莫展之良機, 在下十分愛惜之. 深思熟慮過後飢不擇食就答應為另外一位大老闆助手. 同事們覺得這地位舉足輕重也. 對於我將來升職機會就會有極大影響, 而我呢,孤注一擲, 焚舟破釜地把所擔任的工作與心態全心投入.

聞我同事這工作範圍廣泛, 包括全集團技術及運營部門每月項目更新, 協同效應的舉措等之類的繁複事情.
