recently i’ve upgraded my note 3 to the latest firmware (4.4.2 kernel v.3.4.0-1703205) and all of sudden sluggish issue surfaced which caught my attention, after turning on the developer options (by tapping 3-5 times on the about menu > hardware/firmware info), i started noticing the spike will came out of nowhere and as often as 2mins once (even idle) so i went to debug mode on the cpu and identified that the core firmware has an issue and i googled for solution but appeared not to be able to found any concrete solution…
so i checked the batt util but it only says core android that utilized the most, so i tweaked ard and found out the process thread of a music app called – doubletwist which is surprisingly 100%.. so i used “lomo technique” – i shoot from the hip and took it out and restarted my device.. i should avoid guessing, take enough time to step back and assess the situation that the problem represents .. but well, surprisingly the problem disappeared.
lessons learnt: don’t upgrade your firmware hastily, give at least a month or so for the app developer to do some QA and pushes patches to accommodate the changes on the kernel / firmware.
